Sept 11, 2001

I had only been married for 9 months. I woke up at 6:30 so I could get ready for my job at Dayle McIntosh Center. I got my bowl of cereal and turned on the computer to check my email. I logged on to my AOL account and I saw the image of the first tower on fire. I ran into the bathroom to tell Jim (He was in the shower getting ready for school) While trying to watch the news, I got ready for work. I carpooled to work with my coworker. I don't remember doing much talking. I do remember talking to Jim on the cell phone. He would keep me updated. I remember being in shock. I remember being afraid that Jim would be called back to active duty (he served 2 years in the Navy and was on Inactive Reserves for 5 years - that ended in 2003 so I don't have to worry about that anymore) We didn't do much work that day. I remember sitting in the conference room with the tv on.

It was very surreal. I couldn't believe something like that could happen in America. I remember wanting more than anything to just be home with my entire family.

I don't think I will ever forget that day.

I wish I could be as creative as you! I really hope we get together someday, somehow, someway
