Sick Baby

Ellie has been REALLY grumpy the past couple days. Just screaming and wanting to be held constantly. That isn't like her so I know she isn't feeling good. I finally took her to the doctor yesterday because it had lasted for 3 days. She had a temperature of 100.9 but both ears were clear and so was her throat. He said there was no sign of infection in any of them. He said she was probably fighting a virus. He didn't give her anything just told me to treat the symptoms with Tylenol.

She had an ok day after that. I kept her on Tylenol for most of the day. She acted better. I put her to bed at 7:00 like normal. At 7:45 she started crying. I usually give her a llittle bit to see if she will go back to sleep on her own. At 8:00 I went into check on her. Poor baby had thrown up all over herself. (thankfully I now put them to sleep at opposite ends of the crib with their feet together instead of laying them next to each other.)

I called my mom (because Jim was at school) and asked her to come out and help me. I needed her to hold ellie while I changed the sheet on the crib. I couldn't figure out how I was going to do it when Will was still sleeping in it. Mom knew what to do. I took the sheets off Ellie's side of the crib and put the clean sheet on it. Then I put Will on that side of the crib and then pulled the rest of the dirty sheet off Will's side and finished putting the clean one on. Will slept through the whole thing! Talk about Mommy power! I can change the sheets on a crib and not wake the sleeping baby.

She seems to be feeling a little better today. I'm just praying that Will doesn't get it.

Poor little girl! One of mine has been sick too. I decided not to take him to a doctor as long as his temp does not pass a certain point. I controled it by switching out Tylenol and Motrin. He also screamed and whined and wanted to be held all the time for four days straight, and he kept vomiting and got diarhea too. So I gave him a lot of pedialyte. (He likes the unflavored one.) I also gave him chamomile tea. Thankfully he is OK now.
I hope your Ellie is OK too!
