Obligatory Happy New Year post

I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe new year!

I can't believe:
it's 2009
I'm 31
I've been married almost 8 years
14 years ago I was a senior in high school
I have three kids
Ben is 3
Will and Ellie are almost 9 months.
I've done IVF 4 times.
I've been pregnant 3 times.
I've been pregnant with twins.
I've had 2 c-sections.
I weigh mumble, mumble, mumble.
I've bought and sold a house.
I've owned 6 cars.
I quit work to be a stay at home mom.
I've had 3 dogs, 5 cats and numerous fish

I've been thinking about my New Year's resolutions. Of course I have the standard:
1. lose weight and
2. get out of debt

on top of those two I really want to be a better wife and mother. Sometimes I don't feel like I do a good job at either one. I don't have as much patience as I should with my children or my husband.  I want to work on strengthening my relationship with Jim. He really is a great guy and I need to remember that more often. I need to make sure I appreciate him more and complain less. I need to make sure he knows how much I love him and support him.

I think the other thing I want to work on this year is to find out who I really am and becoming a stronger Me. 2009 is the year of Becoming Me. I want to work on being happy with who I am.

I appreciate your goals for the new year. It is definitely a dilemma to re-learn who we are after we become Mamas.

I still want to know who I am and what I should be doing. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up...if I will ever grow up. You have accomplished wonderful things this last year, Melody. Just being the mother of twins is a great accomplishment, not even mentioning dealing with a 2 year old as well. I thank you for all you have taught me this year about the computer and I look forward to sewing class on Thursday nights...and Saturday nights when you are free.
