Potty Training and other Changes

One of my least favorite parts of being a mommy is Potty Training. So you can imagine my dread when we had twins, knowing that I would have to do it with both of them at the same time. (Which is probably why the twins are almost 3 and aren't potty trained yet.)

Well it looks like we are on our way. Two things surprised me about Potty Training. #1 I'm not doing them both together. They decided to do it one at a time. One of them is more ready than the other one. Which leads us to surprise #2. Will is the one who is ready first. We were pretty sure it was going to be Ellie. But she doesn't really have any interest in it. Will on the other hand wants to go all the time (usually right after I take his diaper off to change him) He hasn't pooped on the toilet yet but he's doing pretty good with pee. I think tomorrow we are actually going to try underwear.

I am going to give Ellie a little bit more time. She's starting to get interested so hopefully when Will is done She will be ready to go.

Next up - getting rid of pacifiers. They already know that on their birthday we are getting rid of them. We talk about it all the time. I'm trying to prepare them for it. Its not going to be fun but it's time.

For those of you who read my blog on reader, I updated it, Come check it out and tell me what you think. It's totally different. :)

I love the new layout! :D

And I am SO with you on the potty training. Honestly, I feel like it's the hardest thing I have do to in those first five years. I'd almost say it's THE hardest part of parenting but I haven't encountered all the ages and stages... ;)

I'm so glad you've been blogging more. I've missed it. Keep me posted on how things go with Will. I'm gearing up to start with Becca. I just want to get it over with. She's started pulling her diaper off every time it's wet or poopy. Joy. I've already bought new underwear for her, I just have to take the leap! (And have three days where I can stay home ALL day to give her a super good start...)

I still subscribe to your blog so I'm reading...

I potty trained the twins separately too, I can't imagine doing two at once. I also remember taking their pacifier's away. They were about 2 but I remember it was much better than I expected. Are you doing the pacifier fairy comes to take them away or something like that?

w/ the paci's - Ellie's favorite superhero is Captain America. She wants a Captain America birthday party. So we told her that on her birthday she is going to give her paci's to Captain America so he can give them to babies who need them.

Abby - I have the underwear for the kids too! I just haven't taken the leap either. I really need to. Maybe I'll start today. Maybe.
