Sleep

The babies slept GREAT on Friday and Saturday. Sadly today was not so great. I think I've figured out the problem (haha) They can't sleep when too many people are around or too much is going on. Friday and Saturday we were out and about a lot but they were in their infant carriers. I had the sun covers closed so they couldn't see out and no one could bug them. On Friday they slept from 9:30 - noon. Then Ellie didn't sleep well until that night. She only took3 naps for a total of about an hour and a half. (Not enough sleep for a two month old) but she did go down at 9:30pm. Will however slept for over 2 and a half hours. Then went to bed at 9:30pm.
Then yesterday Ellie slept from 10:30 to 1:00 then 2:00 to 4:40 again from 6:00 to 7:00 and was down for the night at 9:00. Will slept from 10:30 to 12:50 then 1:20 to 4:40 and again from 6:00 to 7:00 and was down at 9:00. They both slept until 1:00! It was glorious!
Today sucked. They slept off and on all day in about 20 minute incriments. It was awful. They were so grumpy and tired but they just would. not. sleep. They are finally asleep and I am heading to bed to hopefully get a couple of hours before they are up again.
I am going to try an experiment tomorrow. Instead of letting them sleep in the living room I am going to start putting them down for naps in their bed in their room. I am hoping that it will help them sleep longer. I am guessing that the problem is there is too much going on in the living room.

Wish me luck :)

I'm so glad at least Friday and Saturday went better! That's a good idea to see if it helps putting them in their room for naps. I meant to ask earlier what the sleep arrangements were! Knowing what your apartment looks like -- I was curious to know how you're fitting in there. :) So do they sleep in the same room as Ben at night?

Oh - and I keep meaning to say that I LOVE the picture of the shoes at the top of your blog!!

Just wanted to say hi, just discovered your blog from the speakeasy. Welcome to the wonderful world of twins and a toddler. It does get easier, as cliche as it sounds, so hang in there. It sounds like you are doing great!

Abby - Ben is now in our room. Since our room is so huge we just took half of it and made it his. Then the twins got his room. We did it this way because Ben winds up in our bed most nights anyway. It's a tight squeeze having 5 of us in 800 sq feet but you can't beat having grandma and granpa right there to help out. I love the picture of the shoes too! I think I'm actually going to have it printed and frame it. :)

Momlissa - Welcome! I've lurked in your journal on the speakeasy. I keep meaning to post but then someone usually starts crying and I forget. I'm really trying to do better :)
