To move or not to move

Jim and I have been looking at houses lately. Not completely seriously looking but still looking. We've found a couple houses that we're interested in that are in our price range. We even went to look at one yesterday. We didn't see the inside but we did get to see the neighborhood and the outside. The house looked good. I really would love to get into a house but I am scared to death to move.

Will and Ellie are doing alot better but from 5 - 6:30 is HORRIBLE still. I usually go up to my parents house during this time so someone else can hold a SCREAMING baby. This isn't just crying this is SCREAMING. It's like nails on a chalk board. It's awful. I can handle the rest of the day by myself. I can handle getting up 3 times a night (yep, some nights it's still 3 times) to feed them. I can handle doing preschool with Ben and keeping the house clean. I can handle bath night for all three kids alone. I can handle all of that by myself but from 5 - 6:30 I have to have help. Most nights Jim is there to help but he just wants to rock them which means they will fall asleep. Because that's what they want to do. They want to go to bed but I can't let them until 7:00. I used to keep them up until 7:30 decided they needed to go to bed earlier. I'm afraid if I put them to bed any earlier that they will wake up way to early in the morning.

I'm not sure what to do about this. I would love to get into a house. I want to have a backyard and more room for all our stuff. I want Ben to have his own room. But I just don't think I can handle from 5-6:30 with out Grandma and Branka.

Just a warning to those of you in Utah that we are going to see next week - BE PREPARED FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF OF OFF AND ON SCREAMING! I will try to keep them calm and I am going to try to just go with the flow and let them go to bed a little earlier but I'm not sure what I can promise. Any extra hands are greatly appreciated :) (and you might want to stock up on ear plugs)

We have been watching the market and looking at houses for almost a year and my only advice is this - the market is still falling.

Prices are going down 5 percent each month on average. There are houses we looked at when we first moved here that have gone down 100,000 or more, and I'm so glad my hubby convinced me to wait.

Now, we might jump in too, so I'm totally not against it. Just want to make sure you know there might be even better deals if you can wait!

Oh Melody! What a choice - a home of your own or Grandma & Branka's help in the evenings. Blech.

I wish we could be in Utah while you were there. I would SO be willing to take a screaming baby, earplugs or not.

This may sound surprising, but sometimes the earlier they go to bed, the later they sleep. I know - it goes against EVERYTHING in your body to put them down earlier, cuz oh MAN if they wake up in the wee hours of the morning, that would *suck* - but most babies really do sleep until that same time (or later) in the morning even if they go to bed a little earlier. Perhaps try it and see what happens?
